How does my garden grow...

so much of this? This is a weed we have been battling since we put the garden in this year. I don't know if it came from our compost or the environment, but it is out of control. I am certain it loves water, so this is it's lucky year, so far. Any ideas as to what it is and what to do to get rid of it? It seems that when it is hand weeded it just spreads-like "the trouble with tribbles," but not as cute.

Cold Antler Farm Fiddler's Summer update

Fiddle, n. An instrument to tickle human ears by friction of a horses tail on the entrails of a cat.  Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary from Old -Time Fiddle for the Complete Ignoramus! by Wayne ErbsenIt helps one's ego a great deal to have a little fan that thinks every noise you make on the instrument is just grand.  I have been teaching myself to play since the beginning of June or there abouts and I have to say it is a lot of fun!  Although Ellie (a friend who is my go to person for all things fiddle-related) states my fiddle is a piece of _ _ _ _, what do I know?

Life on the farm is kinda...wet

We went to the open house at Broadturn Farm on Sunday with our friends, Kevin and Jess and their son, Eliot. It rained-alot.  It didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits though and a good time was had.  We are CSA members.

Culinary Braveheart

Sometimes, eating can be a battle and you put your game face on to engage the cottage cheese.

Rare bird sighting in SoPo

We awoke Saturday morning to spot this on our lawn.  Obviously it is an exotic and a nocturnal migrator. It also nests in the open. Most likely feeds primarily on salt, lime and tequila. Travels with Robin(s).
