Road Trip

Last weekend, we went to visit great-Grammie at her camp in Trenton, Maine.

For one overnight, we filled the back of the car. We had to stop at Shaw's in Ellsworth for replenishment of cheese and fruit bars (and milk) where Maisie got to drive the cart at floor level, away from the mommas.

Maisie cuts a pose as the ultimate "tourist baby".

Visiting with Grammie and surveying all the treasures from the shore.

All in all a pretty great weekend.

Liberty Village, Maine

It is nice to know there are places like this. Certainly, the romantized version in my head is probably way more colorful than the real thing. But, dang...it just everfesced peacefulness and fit like a place where one could get their creative juices flowing again.

We dropped a fair amount of cash at Liberty Graphics. This is something I highly recommend. Maisie practiced her mad shopping skills (Look out Super Market Sweep) dashing from shelf to bin to a momma with t-shirt after glorious, wonderful t shirt.

A bit of advice...

always err on the side of mother. Yes, I am in my mid-40's and yes I have a toddler. I am her mother-NOT grandmother. I am not a good sport about this. Also, if you are uncertain about parentage due to assumptions about my sexuality...get over it ( I am not "auntie, either). It is a non-issue. I am a parent.

I got an achin' in my heart...

There are just some times when I miss my folks and my home. Tonight is one of those times.

Things that can be found in our backyard

Our St. Joseph figure from our home selling/buying kit of a few years back has found new life as an action figure. He is often seen lounging in the kiddy pool (as pictured) or riding shot gun in Maisie's wheelbarrow or in the sandbox or one of the gardens.

We also got ourselves a new solar clothes dryer. I always thought of myself as more of a "line girl", but have to say I really do admire this new square umbrella number. (And mixing and pouring the concrete was fun, as well.)
