Excitement is the air

Three hours later, I have this image scanned and uploaded from our new wireless printer/scanner/copier/fax.

It is an image of my new personal business card (I believe you can double click on it to actually read it).

There are four areas highlighted on the upper left corner. These are my micro-enterprises: art, farm, talk, and write.

I will expound on what this means in subsequent blogs, but tonight I am giving my 20th century brain a break from this 21st century technology (I'll be glad when Maisie is old enough to help with this techie stuff!).

Innovation

Sometimes you have to look at familiar things in a whole new way...that's what is happening here at the urban grange.

I read somewhere that the chinese symbol for crisis is also the symbol for opportunity. It's not that things are "critical", but there are certain dynamics at work and about "work' that is creating a opportunity to think more innovatively about livelihood and balance and leading a creative life.

Stay tuned for more information.

A portrait of the artiste

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. ~Pablo Picasso

Ferry Beach in February

Apparently a good number of people are battling cabin fever this time of year. We went to the beach today. We actually seem to go more in the winter than we do in the summer. We were not the only ones there by any stretch. There were dogs and kids, old couples and young couples, singles...all bundled up, squinting in the sunshine and leaning into a strong off shore breeze. It was invigorating and liberating of the sinus'.
As you can see from the lobster boat photo, there is quite a drop off from the beach. It's a channel that opens up to some clam flats and sand bars on the other side. That is also there in summer time, so the water gets cold fast. I had to remind M we would not be going in the water, even though Momma just went "swimming" in December (NRDC Polar Dip).

Biddo Art Walk

On the last Friday of the month, Biddeford has instituted an indoor art walk replete with music, food, and such. This month, I will be selling some of my goods. Come on down and check it out. The North Dam Mill building has been refurbished and is quite appealing.

I wish this was an example of my work, but it is this gal's. I just thought the post needed a little color.

We got a new, used car this weekend...a 2007 CR-V.
